Fred is right about everything
A downloadable game for Windows
Meet Fred, an ordinary guy, just on his way to a job interview.. An identity swap turned things totally on his head. When he arrives at the spot where the interview will be taken, Fred still thinks he is on his way taking the job interview and explains everything away by thinking up ‘alternative facts’ to ease his mind.
This is my entry for the $109 adventure game challenge in two weeks (7-21 sept).
It's made with my own PixelParody engine made entirely in LibGDX framework.
It's almost fully voiced, but due to timepressure some takes went into the blackhole.
The largest part of all the pixelart is created by hand. Some icons are generated by either Retrodiffusion or OpenAI.
Voices :
- Voice of Reagan : PimpedPixel
- Trump lookalike : PimpedPixel
- Securityguard : PimpedPixel
- Fred : A voice model trained by me from Elevenlabs
- JD Vance lookalike : PimpedPixel
- Reporter : A cute voice model trained by my daughter for Elevenlabs
- GIJoe: A tiny miltary dude that sounds like Morty
- Barry Corbin lookalike : PimpedPixel
AI Backgrounds:
- Whitehouse Beast driveby
- Norad Base Intermezzo
All the others are hand pixeled, with some screens in the War room taken from wikipedia and reduced to mere pixels (a bad job in my opinion).
Freesound provided me some CC0 sounds to make a collage of the pooping sound
- 531235__dermoid_cyst__shitflies.wav
- 723852__cognito-perceptu__poop-fart.wav
- 776537__frenkfurth__poop-fall-5.wav
Various sounds:
- Norad typewriting : 380137__yottasounds__typewriter-single-key-type-2.wav
- Shampooing : 704795__olympia_94__dirty_hairs.wav
Known Bugs:
- Don't walk with the active character during the cutscenes, somehow my 'block playermovement' went into broken state overnight and I am to tired to figure out why.
- When you drop inventory icons, sometime the text is seen through the inventory overlay. This is due to bad interface design.

I accidentally restarted the game when I wanted to check if there was a save function. In the bottom right corner, I only had the most right icon and not the other three I can see in that Oval Office screenshot. I will give it another shot tonight.
Ah, yes, it looks more like an ‘options’ and ‘hamburger’ icon and that is what you should expect. A exit door icon would be more suitable for this jam entry. Luckily the puzzles are not too lengthy…
I played and finished the game, but there were so many items I didn't use that I worry that I may have taken some unintended shortcuts. Anyway, fun game, channeling Charlie Chaplin in The Dictator somewhat.
I have never thought it that way! The PixelParody engine was always intended for parody and satire but then in point and click format, so in that regard you are completely right.
I opened the Washington bust and I can't do anything else. If I'm supposed to talk to Mario, there's no option.
Marco doesn’t do anything. He is a true non playable character. If Fred says Marco, you could say, Polo
There is some pixelhunting needed (a feature, not a bug). If you zoom into the bust (with an external tool) you might spot something
Oh, thank you. I actually missed the full-screen mode. I understand that you didn't have time to optimize the game and that it crashed a few times, but I always really enjoy Trump parodies, so I kept trying. I hope I can upload my gameplay soon :)
Here it is :)
Wow, great. I doubted that anyone could finish because of the frustrating interface quirks. And you picked up the sigarbox without opening the sofa lid first. Yeah, testing in the last hour before submitting is not recommended!
