I am starting to develop a new point-and-click game after receiving very positive feedback on my DevLog: “Recreating LucasArts Pixel Art with AI in the style of Fate of Atlantis”.

A lot of the comments were very heartwarming, and I felt it was akin to a George Harrison moment—the time he funded a movie he truly wanted to see. That moment went down in history as the most expensive movie ticket. Now, I also want to see this game come to life, because we all know that big game companies rarely make 2D, low-resolution pixel-art adventure games. Fortunately, even as an indie developer, I have some experience in creating and finishing games, even if it’s just in my spare time.

So without further ado… Project “Mac Marcus and the ring of Solomon” has started as of now!

  • What is this still (non) existing game all about?
  • What is the way of working on the game
  • Can I play as the female protagonist?
  • Is there a physical copy planned with the suggested box art?

This game is trying to trigger the neurons that fired heavily when you played those witty point and click games from the 90’s. It tries to hook into your subconcious and feel somewhat familiar.

Think of the ‘unofficial’ ` James Bond like portrayal in the movie the Rock.

So all characters are new, fresh and have their own story, it is all to. It is your own imagination if they exist in the same universe as you fond of.

The main character will be an adventurous type, just like his ancestors.

Mac Marcus
The game will portray the characters as the heroes they were in the 40’s. 
So don’t expect a heroe that drops a kid of to school or make dinner. Same for the heroine! She will not sit at home waiting with for her husband to come back and give her a kiss.

Way of working

  • No compromises, full voice acting from the start and total immersion!
  • Total creative control over story and what should be in the story
  • No IP problem with big streaming companies, it’s all our own making
  • AI is used for rooms for blocking out scenes,
  • AI is used heavily for character development and also for blocking out the best dialogue
  • During gamedev artists and voice actors replace assets on key scenes
  • Smallest team, local team , two, one for graphics and code, one for music
  • Deployed on the most friendliest of distributors, itch.io
  • Point and Click engine is there, it’s custom and free of commercial engines or commercial framework. This is because

Main goal is : Have nostalgists see the game as early as possible, and try it out!

Second goal id : Finish it in all it’s glory

Female Protagonist 

Not until the male protagonist is done. We only just begun, and for practical reasons, we have male voices, so….
